Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air goes on pre-order in China, Xiaomi VR beta test begins

Xiaomi is now taking pre-orders for its Mi Notebook Air in China. The 12.5" laptop with Intel Core m3 is now available for order at CNY 3,499 or about $530. The device will be officially released on August 9, 10AM, which means the pre-orders will be handled with the first come - first served rule. Xiaomi also states that a pre-order does not guarantee a product as the first batch will be quite limited.

The 13.3" Mi Notebook Air with Core i5 CPU and NVIDIA GeForce 940MX GPU is also available for pre-order at CNY 4,999 ($755), but there is no exact availability date.

Currently, these two laptops are launching only in China and there is no word on global availability just yet. If you want to learn more about those you can either check our blog post or visit the official website (in Chinese).

A few days ago we also told you about and upcoming Xiaomi VR headset, which is now official. Well, sort of.

There is very little we know about the headset, aside the fact it's happening. Xiaomi is currently taking registrations for beta-testing the device, but they are not free. If you want to participate in the Xiaomi VR test, you should pay CNY 1 ($0.15), and there is no guarantee you will be selected.

The beta registrations will be open until the 12 AM on August 6, so you should hurry up.

Meanwhile you can watch these people talk about the Xiaomi VR headset in Chinese.
