Sony Xperia XZs arrives in the US on April 5, India on April 11

While we're waiting for the Xperia XZ Premium to finally launch, Sony is busy with the last preparations for the release of the XZs. At an event in India today, the company revealed that the Xperia XZs would become available in the subcontinent starting on April 11. Over there it will be priced at INR 49,990 (which is about $769 or €720 at the current exchange rates). You'll be able to purchase it both online and offline.

If you pre-book your XZs from April 4 to April 10, you'll receive a free wireless Bluetooth speaker, the Sony XB-10, which the company says is worth INR 4,990 ($76 or €71). This offer will be up on Flipkart, and you can also take advantage of it in all Sony Center stores as well as select other retail outlets.

Jumping over to the US, the phone has gone up for pre-order today at Amazon, which is offering it in black, blue, and silver. Each version costs $699, and of course you're getting an unlocked unit for that price. Keep in mind though that it will only work on GSM-based carriers such as AT&T, T-Mobile, Straight Talk, MetroPCS, Cricket Wireless, Simple Mobile, or Bright spot.

The Xperia XZs will be released in the US on April 5. Interestingly, Sony chose to offer the dual-SIM model stateside, which isn't something you see very often from big brands. Note that it comes with a hybrid slot, however, which means that you can either use two SIM cards or one SIM card and one microSD for expansion, but not two SIMs as well as a microSD. Since it's the dual-SIM version, it comes with 64GB of built-in storage (the single-SIM iteration only has half that for whatever reason).
