The Redmi 7A took its sweet time coming to India after its debut in China back in May, but the wait was worth it. However, Xiaomi India's Managing Director Manu Jain has just announced that Indian units will be getting a major chipset boost with Snapdragon 730 SoC replacing the Snapdragon 439 of the original version.
Earlier Jain teased an upgrade on the Indian 7A and said it's a feature that everyone loved on the Mi A2 and the Redmi Note 7. Neither of those has Snapdragon 730, so it's unclear if he meant just a powerful chipset in general or if there will be other changes to the Indian Redmi 7A as well.
Potentially Xiaomi might also add an extra camera on the back of the phone, or 18W fast charging support? We will know that for sure tomorrow, when the phone makes its official debut.
