How to livestream tomorrow's Huawei Mate 30 event

Tomorrow, Huawei will take the stage in Munich where the Chinese phone maker will announce its latest flagship device, the Mate 30. There will be livestreams available on Huawei’s website, Twitter, and Facebook live with the handle @Huaweimobile.

The livestream will begin at 2PM CET/ 8AM ET/ 5AM PT.

Huawei has come under scrutiny as the United States issued a ban on the company, citing a security risk and barring American companies from conducting business with Huawei. This includes Google – so the smartphone won’t be launching with Google Apps or Services.

Despite the intense pushback, Huawei is still expected to launch the next Mate device in at least four different flavors: Mate 30, Mate 30 Pro, Mate 30 Lite, and Mate 30 RS Porsche Design as per renders that leaked yesterday. Although the Huawei P30 didn’t launch with any 5G variants, we are hoping to see a Mate 30 Pro 5G. Live images and most of the devices' specs also leaked yesterday

The Mate 30 Pro will likely be the most popular one. It will come with a 6.6-inch waterfall display with 90Hz refresh rate and its edges will curve down 90-degrees. We are also expecting either touch or pressure sensitive volume keys. The 3D face-unlock first introduced on the Mate 20 Pro is expected on the 30 Pro and perhaps support new hand gesture controls.

The Mate 30 will have a flat display with a smaller notch, opting for dual selfie cameras instead of the full 3D face unlock setup on the 30 Pro. Yesterday's renders reveal another quad-camera setup but we wonder if it will be identical to that of the 30 Pro or if one of the sensors will be swapped for something inferior.

Teasers revealed at least one of the Mate 30 devices will feature air gesture controls and virtual haptic feedback for volume control. The Mate 30 Pro will also have 27W fast wireless charging.

The Mate 30 Lite looks like a Huawei Mate 20 on the back with a square-triple camera setup while the front looks like the Honor View 20 with its hole-punch selfie camera.

Finally, the Mate 30 RS Porsche Design features a raised camera bump-strip that runs the length of the phone and surrounded by a leather backing in red or black. Based on the renders of its official cases, it may include a headphone jack.

This will certainly be one of Huawei’s most interesting launch events.
