Realme 5 gets first software update with August security patch and camera improvements

The Realme 5 announced last month is receiving its first software update.

The new firmware carries version number RMX1911EX_11_A.12 and weighs around 300MB in size. It bumps up the Android security patch level on the Realme 5 to August 5, 2019 and improves the system stability.

The firmware also improves the resolution of the 12MP main camera while improving the portrait mode effect and the performance of WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger video calls.

The update is rolling out over the air and should reach all the users in a week or two. But if you can't wait, you can try pulling the update manually by heading over to the Settings > Software Updates menu of your device.
