Huawei has announced the P50 and P50 Pro smartphones yesterday. Now that the dust from the event has settled, we decided to go through the official promos the company has posted online, as well as an official fully-fledged video review.
The P50 duo has a radical new dual-matrix camera design and Huawei has decided to emphasize what it does best - build a great camera phone with amazing capabilities both for photos and videos.
The Huawei P series has always been about aesthetics and photography, and in the video review Bruce Lee, VP and Product Manager at Huawei, explained what new technology the P50 lineup is bringing, following the success of the predecessors.
The Huawei XD Optics and XD Fusion Pro Image Engine are able to produce a photo that is as close to the real thing as it gets. This is done through complicated computational processes by the ISP - the light that gets through the lens is rearranged, and then a new color alignment is done.
What we can see in the video but was not mentioned by the executive is the relatively small retail box. After further investigation, we found out that the Huawei P50 Pro and the Huawei P50 arrive with no charger in the box, joining Apple and Samsung in this user-unfriendly step.
At least the Huawei P50 phones look good, so here are all the promo videos for your viewing pleasure:
