The Huawei P30 Pro was announced with a periscope camera back in the good old days of early 2019 when there was no trade war looming over Huawei and its future in the mobile business. The company was hit twice by the US government but remained resilient to keep launching new products and more variants of its already launched phones.
Such is the case at IFA 2019 - the Huawei P30 Pro was introduced in two new colors, called Mystic Blue and Misty Lavender, and we immediately grabbed the phones the moment we saw them because we wanted to know more about the paint jobs.
Looking at the phones, one might think there are two textures - the top is glass or transparent plastic, while the bottom is regular plastic or metal. Well, it is neither - Huawei kept the good old Gorilla Glass protection on the back and provided a two-tone look with a glossy part for the camera setup and a frosted finish for the bottom side - similarly to what Google did to the Pixel 3 series.
While the Blue color keeps its blue-ish hues in different lighting, the Lavender variant might be called Pink or Salmon by some and we wouldn’t judge anyone - it really has some Coral/Tea Rose vibes. Of course, this is strictly subjective to the human’s eye and to one’s perspective. Nevertheless, the phone looks amazing - Huawei repainted not only the back panel but the rim around the device as well.
We have to give credit to Huawei where it is due - the new P30 Pro variants are not just eye-candy, they will actually arrive on the market with EMUI 10, based on Android 10, out of the box. This means you get both the latest powerhouse and the pretty package in one deal.
And with the imminent arrival of the Mate 30 series, the Huawei P30 lineup is expected to become cheaper and thus more attractive.
