Apple SharePlay won’t be part of initial iOS 15 rollout

Announced back in June at Apple’s WWDC event and coming later this fall, iOS 15 is one of the most incremental OS updates in a while. One of the noteworthy additions is SharePlay which lets you watch and listen to content from streaming platforms with friends over FaceTime. It seems however that this functionality won’t be available when iOS 15 launches to the public later this fall as Apple confirmed the news in a blog post on its Developer portal.

Apple is also disabling SharePlay across developer beta 6 versions of iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and tvOS 15 as well as the upcoming beta 6 release of macOS Monterey. No official explanation for the delay was provided.

In related news, users on iOS 15 beta have reported a new option within the Settings app which allows them to permanently turn off Night Mode for photos in the native camera app.

The steps required include going to the Settings app, tapping on the Camera section then selecting Preserver Settings and finally toggling Night Mode off. You can still re-enable Night Mode directly from the Camera app if you so choose after.
